천인지 의학 기공은 집중적인 氣수련을 통해 선천의 기와 후천의 기를 증폭시켜 丹田에 眞氣를 축적하고 임맥과 독맥을 통해 진기를 운기하면 진기(眞氣)를 극대화하는데 하 단전(下丹田)에서 진기를 기화(氣化)시켜 중단(中丹)에 임하고 그 氣가 더 확장되면 상 단전(上丹田)에 이르러 임맥과 독맥이 뚫리면서 백회(百會)가 열리고 인당(印堂)이 열려, 신기(神氣)가 통하게 되어 우주만물의 근원을 알고 세상의 이치를 보게 되어 통영하는 것이다. 위 임맥과 독맥이 뚫리면 그때부터 좌손과 우손에 氣를 느끼고 또 氣를 환자에게 쏴 사기(邪氣)를 없애 병을 치료하는 것이다.
